Billiard cue rack

Even though using a billiard cue rack is not much to speak of, there are other racks that are more interesting. The different kinds of racks that you use to set up the balls on the table are sometimes difficult to properly set up. The way that these racks are set up depends on which game you are playing.

• For a normal game, simply place the ball rack on the table and put all the balls in it. The order in which they are placed is not important. Just put all of the balls inside the rack, with the exception of the cue ball. This ball will be used to break to start the game. Take the cue from the billiard cue rack and break the rack to begin a game.

• If you are setting up a ball rack for a game of 8-ball, place all 15 balls in the rack and then find the 8-ball and place it in the middle of the third row. The rest of the balls do not need to be placed in any specific order, although a lot of people tend to alternate solids and stripes. The only thing you need to make sure of is that there is a stripe at one bottom corner and a solid at the other bottom corner. Some people are talented at simply grabbing a cue from the billiard cue rack and breaking the ball rack, but for others it is not so easy.

So even though the ball rack sees more action, the billiard cue rack is also an important thing to have thanks to the fact that it allows you to store your cues. Still, it is not really nearly as exciting as the rack used to set up the balls.
